The Course Description
A seminar designed to provide doctoral students the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills and
resources necessary for effective teaching in the church and institutions of higher education.
Consideration will be given to the teaching environment, online and campus learning, instructional
methodology and curriculum design. Participants will be trained to develop measurable course objectives
and instructional methods as well as appropriate assessment tools.
The Course Objectives
- Design and write an appropriate course syllabus.
- Develop appropriate, measurable learning objectives for a variety of courses.
- Develop lesson plans in a variety of contexts that align with course-level learning objectives.
- Design effective assessment tools that align with course- and lesson-level learning objectives.
